Megan Richards Flores

Megan Richards Flores is a member of Gregory Doyle’s Trust & Estates and Tax and Business Transactions and Corporate Law practices, having joined the firm in 2014.

With over a decade of experience, Ms. Flores provides comprehensive legal counsel on tax, estate planning and estate administration matters to individuals and families, as well as privately held businesses. Ms. Flores also works with other attorneys in the firm’s Business Transactions and Corporate Law practice to design and implement tax-efficient business and investment structures, growth-promoting non-qualified executive compensation plans, and tax strategies to facilitate transactions such as mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Flores is exceptionally strong in creative problem solving and bringing complex tax and estate planning and administration issues to a successful resolution.

Some of the components of estate plans developed and implemented by Ms. Flores include the following: Tax Planning Wills, Advance Health Care Directives, Durable Powers of Attorney, Revocable Living Trusts, Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts, Irrevocable Gifting Trusts, Generation Skipping Transfer Tax Planning, Family Limited Partnerships, Charitable Lead Trusts, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, Special Needs Trusts, Sales to Defective Grantor Trusts, Qualified Sub-Chapter S Trusts, Retirement Plan Trusts, and Qualified Domestic Trusts.

Ms. Flores also offers legal assistance in the administration of decedents’ estates including post-mortem planning solutions to mitigate the consequences of poor planning. Estate administration services are offered on a case by case basis, consisting of as little or as much professional assistance as the decedent’s family and personal representatives need or desire.   • Assisting with pre-sale tax restructuring of $18 million medical & health consulting and testing services business.
  • Modifying multi-generational trusts under recently enacted Georgia trust law to achieve client objectives.
  • Identifying and resolving oversight in administration of estate that could have resulted in millions of dollars of generation-skipping transfer tax liability.
  • Representing agricultural company in design, drafting and implementation of highly customized nonqualified deferred compensation plan for key employees.
  • Assisting with reorganization of existing operating business to achieve optimal tax planning structure in light of business plan and owner cash flow needs.
