Debra L. Blair is an Associate with the Real Estate and Government Group. She focuses her real estate practice in the areas of right-of-way acquisitions, condemnation, land use and local governmental law.
Most recently, Ms. Blair worked as a staff attorney for Cobb County Government representing primarily the Tax Commissioner and Community Development. As a private practitioner, she represented governmental agencies, public utilities and individuals in real estate and corporate matters. Prior to attending law school, she spent 16 years in the mortgage industry.
Prior to Cobb County, Blair was an associate attorney at Bentley, Bentley & Bentley in Marietta, Georgia, where she served as primary counsel to an electric transmission company and a natural gas provider regarding land acquisitions; and provided assistance to city and county clients on various legal matters. Blair also held an associate attorney position administering real estate purchases, refinances and closings at Perrie & Associates in Marietta. During law school, Blair served as an intern at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Atlanta. Prior to law school, Blair spent 16 years in the mortgage industry, where she gained experience in the processing, closing and underwriting of mortgage loans.
She received her Juris Doctor Degree in 2006 from Emory University School of Law. Blair holds a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
